Ryecroft is a Nature Friendly School

Ryecroft Primary Academy is excited to announce that it has signed up to take part in the Nature Friendly Schools research project, a ground-breaking £6.4million initiative supported by the Department for Education, with support from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and Natural England.

The 4 year project will give thousands of children the opportunity to get closer to nature, while exploring the impact of outdoor learning on the mental health of young people.  30 children from Ryecroft  will receive at least 2 hours outdoor learning per week, and the academy will have access to funds for the improvement of the school grounds.  There will also be the opportunity for trips and residential visits supported by the project.

We look forward to seeing our pupils experience the joy that nature can bring.
