As you are aware, we were inspected on Wednesday 30 January and Thursday 31 January and I am delighted to announce that we have been awarded ‘GOOD’ from the Ofsted team. This is a massive achievement for all the staff, pupils and parents at Ryecroft.
The Ofsted team recognised the changes made since the last inspection and how the children are now eager to learn.
We are pleased with some of their key findings:
A strong, united and determined leadership team has made substantial and sustained improvements since the last inspection.
Leaders have brought about an enormous improvement in pupils’ behaviour. The vast majority of pupils work hard and behave well at all times and in all parts of the school.
Caring adults are watchful and scrupulous in ensuring the welfare and safety of pupils.
Provision in the early years, including for two-year-olds, gets children off to a good start.
We still must work on improving the overall outcomes for all children so that they are fully prepared for secondary school and ensure pupil progress is strong. Raising attendance across the school is a key priority too. Attendance is a target that parents can help with.
On behalf of the academy and Northern Education Trust, I would like to thank you for supporting us through the journey from Special Measures to Good. Please spread the good news as your children have worked hard to achieve the ‘Good’ judgement.
